This is a volunteer pumpkin plant - probably courtesy of a bird. When we noticed it we decided to just let it go and see what happens. It has wandered over just to where the sidewalk bends and heads toward the street. I'm sure people think we're nuts....but they're probably waiting for the pumpkins to show up too. :-) Poor mail carrier.
You can see that it has been pretty dry lately. I haven't mowed the lawn for 2 weeks but it's so dry it doesn't matter much.
