"Nobody's seen that particular scale in 67 million years! "

This was a comment by one of the museum people in Bismark, North Dakota. They are cleaning up the remains of a dinosaur discovered in Dakota. The fact that they found another dinosaur - this one fossilized skin and all - is pretty awesome. The part that made me chuckle was the 67 million years. Why not 55½ or 100 million?

One of our politicians running for president - when asked how long ago he thought the world came into existence....(that was an important question - you understand - when dealing with national security and balancing the budget, etc.) his reply was essentially - "I don't know - I wasn't there". :-)

Some scientists should be so honest. Not all of them- but many - remind me of gossips who pick up a thread of something and fabricate the rest. Or finding a sliver of a bone and mold a whole head - amazingly showing eye contour, lips, ears, etc. - from a sliver of bone! What is more amazing there are people who actually fall for that! Is that supposed to be intelligent?

It's one thing to hear something and think "Wow... is that a fact?...Amazing!" but on reflection realize the absurdity of it.....It's another to continue to hold on to it as the truth - when there are huge gaps in the evidence but not letting that be a problem....." 'cause - weir edjucated."

We humans are weird creatures.
